Widows, Single Mothers and Their Children

The Bible often stresses the importance for caring for widows. In Tanzania, Father Hung M. Dinh, M.M., leads a project to support women who have lost their husbands, have children and have been abandoned by their families and relatives.

This project supports widows, single mothers and their children in a variety of ways, including providing skills training, renting fields for them to cultivate food and providing financial support for them to fix their homes before the rainy season. It also provides healthcare for infants and some hospital services. These efforts help families meet their immediate needs while building a more stable future. With practical support and encouragement, women who might otherwise be left vulnerable can provide for their children with dignity and hope. The project also strengthens the local community by ensuring that widows and their children are not left to struggle alone.
